From Medea Benjamin:
I just came from a fabulous Florida tour organized by the indomitable Mike Fox, speaking about my new book Kingdom of the Unjust: Behind the US-Saudi Connections and the need to stop weapons sales to the Saudi regime.
This effort is coming at a critical time when the Saudis have just bombed a Yemeni school, residential neighborhood and a Doctors Without Borders hospital, and at a time when the Obama administration just announced a new $1 billion sale of deadly weapons.
This sale is subject to Congressional approval, and our job is to get Congress to stand up and say "Enough is enough." Will you contribute to stopping weapons sales to the repressive Saudi regime by funding this speaking/organizing tour?
Thanks to Mike Fox and his team of PDA supporters, in Florida I was able to:
* speak to packed houses in 7 cities in 4 days --bookstores, community centers, churches;
* educate hundreds of people about the need to break US-Saudi relations;
* use each gathering to collectively call both Florida Senators, urging them to "Stop US weapons sales to Saudi Arabia";
* leave a lot of people energized and motivated to get more involved with PDA and our campaign for peace.
Now we want to take this show on the road throughout the country. We are doing this tour on a bare bones budget--getting free venues and staying at people's homes. But we still have travel costs and need to raise $2,000 today to organize the next legs of the tour. Will you contribute to stopping weapons sales to the repressive Saudi regime by funding this speaking/organizing tour?
Any amount greatly appreciated, but a contribution of $100 or more get's a thank you copy of Kingdom of the Unjust.
Thanks so much for your support, and I look forward to seeing you in your area soon!
