Are you stunned and saddened by the election results? You are not alone. Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is disgusted by what happened on Election Day and the parade of horrible high-level appointees. But we're not moping. We're already working to make things better. We were instrumental in launching the Political Revolution that brought Bernie Sanders and his common sense policy solutions to millions of Americans. We've come this far. We're not going back. We will continue working to build a New Democratic Party that embraces the younger and more diverse voices we need to listen to much better if we're going to win elections going forward.
We're here to help you make progress in your state and locality! If you need help organizing a new PDA chapter or energizing your existing chapter, please contact PDA Field Coordinator Judy Hess. Sign up with Mike "Phone Guy" Fox to make change in your local and state Democratic Party and to make movement building calls from your own home. Too busy to volunteer? Then donate generously now to support our unabashedly progressive organizing.
In 2004, Tim Carpenter founded PDA in Roxbury Massachusetts. Then and there, we committed ourselves to fostering progressive change by working inside and outside the Democratic Party. A dozen years later, PDA remains the insurgency working to renew and reform the Democratic Party. We are still the Democratic Wing of the Party. If you haven't given up, if you want revolutionary change inside and outside of the Democratic Party, and you aren't defeated or too depressed to act, then jump in! PDA is the right organization for you!
We understand not everyone is up to doing the tough and often thankless work ahead. These times are depressing, no doubt, but if you doubt that we can accomplish things we're already accomplishing, please understand our mounting successes disprove your doubts. Please don't spread any doom and gloom our way. Again: If you don't think we can do what we're already doing, then you're just wrong. We're doing it! We will not let anyone disrespect us or distract us from the progress we're making. We wish you well, but if you want to deny our success, troll us, or attack our mission, then you're wasting your time. We won't let you waste ours. Please take any negativism, tirades, and complaining someplace else. We're a "Progress-rich and whine-free zone."
Reminder: Sunday, December 18th is the last day to order progressive gifts in time for delivery before December 25th. Don't cut it too close. Shop now for holiday gifts that support and advance your principles. Buy great gifts for your loved ones (and yourself) while supporting progressive movement building! Show your progressive pride with our union-made buttons, bumper sticker, and self-inking stamps! Help PDA continue our work by giving gifts with a progressive message.
2016 began with such promise. We persuaded Bernie Sanders to run as a Democrat, and thereby helped launch the movement he dubbed a "Political Revolution." Our movement grew beyond all our expectations. After the resounding repudiation of neoliberalism last month, PDA's work for real progress is more necessary now than ever before. And today, we need your help more than ever before.
Our fragile planet cannot survive ignorance or inaction with the growing threats posed by the climate emergency, armed conflict, and destructive greed. PDA stands ready, even as we grieve, to forge an exciting path forward. Are you as resolved and as determined as we are? Can we count on you to join with us dusting ourselves off, soothing our bruises, and getting to work? If so, please contact PDA Field Coordinator Judy Hess now to help launch or strengthen a chapter in your state and locality. Sign up with Mike "Phone Guy" Fox to make calls from your own home. Donate generously now to support our unabashedly progressive organizing.
