This will be YUUUGE, as we will plan for the Summer for Progress, a nationwide effort of PDA and many other grassroots organizations to implement a positive, affirmative program around the People's Platform. We need to start before the meeting - see "urgent action".

URGENT ACTION NEEDED NOW!

This is about the Summer For Progress which begins with need for immediate action; namely, to sign and circulate as far and wide as possible this petition to Democratic Congress Members (explanation below). The petition signatures will be delivered next week after a press conference on Capitol Hill. So you can appreciate how quickly we must move.

And about the Meet and Greet:

From Emily Cameron: Pat Harris, progressive candidate for U.S. Senate in California, is stopping by Fresno this Saturday, and his campaign reached out to me to set up a Meet and-Greet event. Mark your calendars! It's this Saturday, July 22nd at 6 pm. This event is at Common Space, 2915 Tulare St, Fresno, CA 93721 - just down the street from Fresno Democratic HQ.

Pat is campaigning on the need for single payer, transitioning to 100% renewable energy, and my favorite part is he isn't taking any corporate donations. He believes that the current centrist strategy of the Democratic Party isn't working and wants to change that.

Pat has specifically asked to hear from grassroots activists about what issues impact us here in Fresno. I told his team about our PDA chapter and he really wants to meet us... This is not an endorsement but I think Pat sounds like a great guy and I am just so thrilled that someone is challenging Dianne Feinstein...
