Big insurance companies are swamping Colorado airwaves with dishonest propaganda. We need you to donate your time, your money, or both right now. If we can show strong support for single payer in Colorado, we can bring the struggle to other states. Can we count on you to help advance our Healthcare For All efforts?
- Please contribute generously to support PDA's efforts on behalf of ColoradoCare. We gratefully welcome any donation.
- Money tight? Then please contact me, Donna Smith, if you can join us in Colorado working for ColoradoCare.
- Can't make it to Colorado? Then sign up to volunteer with Mike "Phone Guy" Fox to make easy but important calls.
As a Coloradan who's endured horrific experiences trying to deal with our broken healthcare system, the ColoradoCare campaign is very personal to me. That's why I'm so honored that Lyn Gullette, a leader with the Campaign Team for ColoradoCare.org says:
PDA and Donna Smith, both nationally and at the state level, have been strong supporters of Colorado's efforts to pass Amendment 69 and secure universal health care. PDA walks the progressive walk and we've watched them skillfully, tenaciously, and powerfully fight against the multi-national corporate profiteers and advocate for the people and for the basic human right to have health care. Colorado is grateful for PDA.
I'm honored that PDA Founder Tim Carpenter chose me to co-chair PDA's Healthcare Not Warfare campaign. Today, you can help support PDA's work for healthcare as a human right. Please contribute generously to support PDA's efforts on behalf of ColoradoCare.
If you're in Colorado or can travel to join us for events and canvassing, please contact me at Donna Smith / Donna@PDAmerica.org
From our allies Healthcare for All Colorado:
Mark your calendars and save the date -- Saturday, October 1, 2016. Health Care for All Colorado and Progressive Democrats of America are teaming up to co-sponsor a day of action in support of ColoradoCare, Amendment #69. From 10 am to 1 pm we will be canvassing to spread the word about ColoradoCare. We are targeting the southeast Denver house district where Lydia Guzman, our HCAC president, lives and where we believe we can make a difference speaking directly to voters about the ballot measure.
Our plans are to meet up at the Panera Bread location on the northeast side of the I25 and Hampden intersection. We will give you materials to leave at the homes where you stop. You may choose to spend as little or as much time as your wish canvassing, but we know this is the most effective way to reach our neighbors and the best way to offset the massive opposition campaign against Amendment #69.
After canvassing, we are hosting an action at 3 pm outside the Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield Building at 700 Broadway in Denver. We encourage you to make signs sharing the amount you will save under ColoradoCare coverage so that we can contrast the misinformation being advertised about the ballot measure. The latest news about premium increases for health insurance in Colorado show that the average increase in 2017 will be 20.4 percent. That increase will be unbearable for many, and ColoradoCare will offer people relief from those ever-rising health coverage costs.
We know that our friends with the ColoradoCare campaign are hosting a nurses' day of action on the same day, so we expect to be in very good company as we work together with our allies at Progressive Democrats of America to promote ColoradoCare. PDA endorsed Amendment #69 well before any other national ally, and PDA has been hard at work on phone-banking and online effort on behalf of ColoradoCare for weeks. we are thrilled that we will have PDA members from other parts of the country here to join us on Saturday. We will send a reminder with more details later in the week.
So, bring a friend or the kids and join us. We need your help and your support. We are also continuing our work in support of national single-payer, improved Medicare for all coverage, so please donate if you are able to. Thanks so much for all you do.
Donna Smith for Judy, Mike F, Mike H, Janis, Deb, Dan, Teva, Amos, and Kim, your PDA National Team
