As a Coloradan who's endured horrific experiences trying to deal with our broken healthcare system, the ColoradoCare campaign is very personal to me. That's why I'm so honored that Lyn Gullette, a leader with the Campaign Team for ColoradoCare.org says:

Mark your calendars and save the date -- Saturday, October 1, 2016. Health Care for All Colorado and Progressive Democrats of America are teaming up to co-sponsor a day of action in support of ColoradoCare, Amendment #69. From 10 am to 1 pm we will be canvassing to spread the word about ColoradoCare. We are targeting the southeast Denver house district where Lydia Guzman, our HCAC president, lives and where we believe we can make a difference speaking directly to voters about the ballot measure.

Our plans are to meet up at the Panera Bread location on the northeast side of the I25 and Hampden intersection. We will give you materials to leave at the homes where you stop. You may choose to spend as little or as much time as your wish canvassing, but we know this is the most effective way to reach our neighbors and the best way to offset the massive opposition campaign against Amendment #69.

After canvassing, we are hosting an action at 3 pm outside the Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield Building at 700 Broadway in Denver. We encourage you to make signs sharing the amount you will save under ColoradoCare coverage so that we can contrast the misinformation being advertised about the ballot measure. The latest news about premium increases for health insurance in Colorado show that the average increase in 2017 will be 20.4 percent. That increase will be unbearable for many, and ColoradoCare will offer people relief from those ever-rising health coverage costs.

We know that our friends with the ColoradoCare campaign are hosting a nurses' day of action on the same day, so we expect to be in very good company as we work together with our allies at Progressive Democrats of America to promote ColoradoCare. PDA endorsed Amendment #69 well before any other national ally, and PDA has been hard at work on phone-banking and online effort on behalf of ColoradoCare for weeks. we are thrilled that we will have PDA members from other parts of the country here to join us on Saturday. We will send a reminder with more details later in the week.

So, bring a friend or the kids and join us. We need your help and your support. We are also continuing our work in support of national single-payer, improved Medicare for all coverage, so please donate if you are able to. Thanks so much for all you do.
