Address the Climate Emergency Now!

Fracking, pipelines, offshore drilling, tar sands—all of these and all other carbon extraction threaten our climate and our drinking water, as well as our land, sea and air. We cannot afford to keep poisoning and overheating our planet. We have no choice. We must adopt alternative energy, and keep fossil fuels in the ground.

We've known about this growing crisis for decades. In 1962, Rachel Carson's Silent Spring warned us. Marie Gaye's "Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)" explained it with passionate melody back in 1971:

Woo ah, mercy mercy me
Ah things ain't what they used to be, no no
Where did all the blue skies go?
Poison is the wind that blows from the north and south and east
Woo mercy, mercy me, mercy father
Ah things ain't what they used to be, no no
Oil wasted on the ocean and upon our seas, fish full of mercury....
