Join the ERA 3 State Strategy monthly national call for the latest on the movement.
As always we’ll be getting updates on national legislation — SJ Res 15 and HJ Res 51: A joint resolution removing the deadline for the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. We are up to 29 co-sponsors in the Senate and 162 in the House. This legislation is moving and we plan to keep the momentum going until victory is achieved. We’ve made real progress in our efforts to convince Senator Diane Feinstein to co-sponsor SJ Res 15 and will be devoting a good bit of the call to this campaign.
We’ll also hear from state ERA leaders from across the nation, talk about ERA in the news and on the stage, and discuss ways to keep the ERA viable in the upcoming election.
It’s going to be a great call! Please join us and do your part to ratify the ERA.

This month we welcome special guests Robert Dawkins of SAFE Coalition North Carolina and host of Agitator Radio, along with Alex Jeffrey, of DC NORML, which was established in January of 2015 to promote the legalization of cannabis in the District of Columbia.
Robert will speak on SAFE Coalition NC, which is a grassroots community coalition working to build public trust and accountability in NC law enforcement. They believe that critical dialogue, citizen oversight and legislative action are required to design a safe, accountable, fair and equitable system of criminal justice.
Alex will speak on DC NORML and their plans to legalize cannabis in the District of Columbia. Since the passage of Initiative 71, DC NORML has started to engage elected officials and regulators on the issues that are important to cannabis consumers such as safe access to affordable cannabis, home cultivation and fair taxation.
We will also review US Congressional bills S 683 and HR 1583, both known as the CARERS Act of 2015, which stands for Compassionate Access, Research Expansion, and Respect States Act of 2015, for potential endorsement. This bill would amends the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) to provide that control and enforcement provisions of such Act relating to marijuana shall not apply to any person acting in compliance with state law relating to the production, possession, distribution, dispensation, administration, laboratory testing, or delivery of medical marijuana.
