We are hosting a special meeting on Wednesday evening, March 7, at the Corbin Bowl in Tarzana.
As you probably know, the Assemblymembers from Assembly Districts 39 and 45 resigned, creating the need for a special election, which is scheduled for April 3.
We have invited the Democratic candidates vying for these two seats to a forum to introduce themselves and tell us their qualifications for representing us in the Assembly. We will also pose questions to the candidates so that we can learn their stances on the issues and we will have the opportunity to speak to them one-on-one. So far we are expecting in the AD 39 race (in alphabetical order) Bonnie Corwin and Patrea Patrick and in the AD 45 race, Ray Bishop, Jeff Bornstein, Daniel Brin, Jesse Gabriel and Ankur Patel.
The evening will start off with a short business meeting, including a report on the recent California Democrats State Convention. That will be followed by the forum and then an opportunity to chat with the candidates in the bar area. The group will provide pizza and salad and attendees will also be able to order additional items to eat or drink.
If you want to submit a question for the candidates, please send an email to Mike at ([email protected]) and Teresa at ([email protected]) with the heading "Question for AD Candidates."
Mark the date on your calendar and invite a friend! The Corbin Bowl is located at 19616 Ventura Blvd. in Tarzana. The room we will be using is handicap accessible but make sure you enter on Ventura Boulevard at the far east side of the building. If you want to learn more about the location, the website is here.
If you want to check if you are in these two Assembly Districts, type your address here.
In Solidarity,
