On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate voted to table SJ Res. 39, a bipartisan effort to halt a massive $1.15 billion weapons sale to Saudi Arabia. PDA dropped Educate Congress letters seeking support for the measure championed by Senators including Chris Murphy, (D-CT).; Rand Paul, (R-KY); Al Franken, (D-MN); and Mike Lee, (R-UT) because of attacks on civilians in Yemen as documented by neutral human rights advocates.

All is not lost, however. PDA-endorsed Representative Ted Lieu introduced a House Joint Resolution to block the arms deal. Please contact your Representative now and strongly urge them to support Rep. Lieu's resolution to halt the Saudi arms deal because of ongoing human rights violations and atrocities, as well as the likelihood of empowering ISIS and Al Queda!
