Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) strongly opposes the confirmation of extremist Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. Kavanaugh refuses to say whether or not he believes a sitting president can be indicted or even subject to a subpoena. Kavanaugh refuses to say whether or not a sitting president can pardon himself. He’s facing a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee as soon as next week! Here are the members of the Committee. Call them all daily:

Tell Your Senators No Extremism Or Rush To Judgment

Kavanaugh refuses to commit to recusing himself from Supreme Court cases dealing with illegal acts by the President of the United States. Kavanaugh refuses to commit to protecting the settled precedent of Roe v. Wade, Americans with pre-existing conditions, or fundamental environmental laws, but he does claim that the Second Amendment is absolute and includes “right” of anyone to brandish assault weapons.

Tell the Senate Judiciary Committee members to postpone a vote on Brett Kavanaugh until all relevant documents are released with sufficient time to review them.

Let’s consider recent events: Former Trump fixer Michael Cohen’s plea deal on 8 counts of fraud essentially made President Trump an “unindicted co-conspirator.”

In clear violation of the First Amendment just last week, the President has expanded his accusation of “fake news” to include books and articles he doesn’t like, and suggested strengthening libel laws to prevent their publication.

He has called for peaceful protests to be illegal. He has described perceived censorship of conservative (right-wing conspiracy) viewpoints by Google, Facebook, and Amazon as a “very anti-trust situation.”

In a presidential tweet that legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin says “may be an impeachable offense,” Trump chastised the Department of Justice for bringing criminal charges against two Republican Congressmen in advance of the midterm elections, as being detrimental to Republicans’ electoral fortunes. He told supporters at a campaign rally in Indiana that he might “get in there” if the Department of Justice doesn’t investigate his political opponents.

Against this backdrop of presidential malfeasance, the Senate Judiciary Committee is conducting confirmation hearings on Brett Kavanaugh, a nominee for whom there is an extensive paper trail in his previous government service, and for whom less than 10 percent of relevant documents have been released to committee members.

Kavanaugh has been evasive and uncooperative under current questioning, and his misleading testimony before the same committee in 2006 has not been resolved. His known judicial views are far outside the mainstream, and Republicans are trying to hide his record and rush his confirmation vote prior to the new session of the Supreme Court.

Tell the Senate Judiciary Committee members to postpone a vote on Brett Kavanaugh until his judicial and public service records can be thoroughly examined.
