Building on the Bernie Sanders-inspired Political Revolution, YPDA and Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) have launched a strategic alliance. College students are working with PDA members to expand the progressive movement, bringing their energy and commitment to college campuses throughout the USA, and creating more inclusive progressive spaces. See below for exciting activism in Hawai'i. Please contribute $500, $50, or whatever you can right now to help us build YPDA! Money tight? Then get involved with YPDA. Contact Teva@PDAmerica.org to find out how. Interested in learning more? See the YPDA Facebook page.
The most hopeful photo I've seen all year: YPDA at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.

YPDA gained media attention for their organizing, including from KITV News:
The Hawai'i chapter of Young Progressives Demanding Action, a new grassroots organization at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Campus, says the purpose of the "Love Trumps Hate" rally is to highlight the policies that they say will be threatened under Trumps presidency, such as, women's rights, climate change, immigration, and LGBTQ.
"We need to stand up for all our community, because if one of theses groups are marginalized alone they'll—we need everyone to be together to be behind that one group," YPDA organizer, Cameron Sato said.
Please donate $500, $50, or whatever you can now to support YPDA, and join with me thanking all PDA staff and chapter leaders who already support our incredible young activists. In particular, thank you Judy Hess, Teva Gabis-Levine, Janis Kay and Mike Hersh for supporting the launch of YPDA, as well as Andrea Miller for her wonderful support from PDAction, our sister organization. Thank you to Russell Greene for including YPDA leadership in the critical California election preview calls. And thank you to Steve Cobble for his wise nurturing of YPDA leadership at its earliest stages. This is a group effort and an incredible success.
From the chats with our booth mates at the People's Summit in Chicago last June to this point just five months later, we've accomplished amazing, world changing organizing together. Thank you all. Also, please go to the PDA Virginia's Facebook page to see the photo album of our successful "Progressive Dinner Table: breaking bread together" in the DC suburb of Vienna, Virginia. One hundred activists gathered there including many YPDA activists. Thank you to PDA Virginia State Co-Coordinators Kristin Cabral and Stephen Spitz for hosting this wonderful event.
Reminder: we will mark the 10th anniversary and relaunch the Healthcare Not Warfare (HWN) campaign in the coming weeks. We are planning HNW vigils across the country on Saturday, December 10th, 2016, International Human Rights Day. We are asking that PDA chapters everywhere hold public vigils and/or programs to call attention to the agreement to which the United States has been a party for 68 years and has yet to adopt fully in policy or practice. Please contact Judy Hess to help organize a vigil Or other event.
Help PDA make needed progress on Healthcare Not Warfare. Please contact PDA Field Coordinator Judy Hess now to help organize a Healthcare Not Warfare event or vigil. Sign up with Mike "Phone Guy" Fox to make important calls from your own home. Too busy to volunteer? Then donate $500, $50, or whatever you can now to support our unabashedly progressive organizing for healthcare as a human right.
