As Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) reported months ago, neither Senator Bernie Sanders nor Secretary Clinton will clinch the nomination with pledged delegates before the Philadelphia Democratic National Convention. Therefore, so-called Super Delegates will determine our next Democratic nominee for president, and they cannot do that before July 24th. Progressive Democrats of America launched the Run Bernie Run Campaign way back in 2013, and we succeeded in persuading Sen. Sanders to run in the Democratic Primaries. We did this because he committed himself and his campaign to building a powerful grassroots progressive movement. Now, we're on the verge of making history! Acording to reliable reports, Super Delegates are increasingly likely to select Bernie if he wins in California.
On this day, we remember Tim Carpenter
Progressive Democrats of America's founder Tim Carpenter passed away just over two years ago. This Memorial Day, we honor his legacy, including his founding the Healthcare Not Warfare campaign. I was honored to co-chair that effort. After a lifetime of fighting for progress, Tim had one last battle in him. He almost single-handedly launched the Run Bernie Run effort in 2013, and relentlessly urged Bernie Sanders to run for president as a Democrat.
Ever since, we’ve been pouring our time, energy, and resources into first persuading Bernie to run as a Democrat, and then into making Bernie's political revolution the powerful force it is today. A profoundly modest person, Tim wouldn't have let us explain this, but credit where credit is due: None of that would've happened without Tim Carpenter's vision and courage.

More than two years ago, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), began the push to draft Bernie Sanders for President called Run Bernie Run. We refused to let the establishment pick its candidates for us. We worked to encourage Bernie to run, because we knew he’d run on a progressive platform designed to build the movement we need.
As we approach the critically important California primary and other big primaries, as well as the contested Democratic National Convention, it is time for us to draft Bernie’s running mate.
