Now, he sits triumphantly on his Trump Tower perch as he recruits the billionaires and generals he is nominating to reign over us. The Bully-in-Chief knows this process well. Let none say that Donald Trump is a stranger to working whatever angles he considers necessary to enact his regressive, racist, sexist, xenophobic, anti-environment, anti-education, and anti-science agenda. We must and will resist. Will you join our resistance? We can't do anything without you.

The Only Choice for Bully-Battered Nation

This is a call for active resistance

PDA chapters throughout the nation are seeing large surges in turnout for post-election meetings and events. Help us keep building. PDA organizers are busy working inside their state and local Democratic Party structures to pack the local and state Party leadership with progressives. Berniecrats are winning positions of responsibility, and implementing plans to transform the Party from the ground floor up. All the way up to the national chair as we back our Advisory Board member and dear friend Keith Ellison's effort to serve as DNC Chairperson.

All that is all wonderful, but we would be lying if we said that the process of transforming the Party is a sufficient response to the threat the incoming Trump-Pence-Ryan regime poses. We know you poured out your heart (and wallet) to support Bernie, PDA, and several progressive candidates who will work in Congress to resist the Trump agenda. But the immediate issue at hand is resistance. How do we resist? How do we make sure our objections are not only heard but acted upon? How do we make sure our Democratic leaders—especially our progressive champions—stand with us at the barricades?

On my Facebook timeline, I wrote the following status update:

In the few days before Hamilton's electors vote, my bet would be that Trump will behave himself a tad. He is a classic abusive guy, a bully. He'll make everyone grateful he's being calmer, less Twitter present and more presidential. Once the electors vote, he will double down as he truly believes he is smarter than all of the rest. This cycle plays out in every abusive home with domestic violence situations and households in which there is battering. It is obnoxious to watch as the abuser plays with his prey.

We Refuse to become Donald Trump's prey. This website makes it easy to contact the members of the Electoral College. If you agree with us that the winner of the popular vote should win presidential elections, please act now. We can all contact the Electors to resist an undemocratic presidency before it starts if we act in the short time before the December 19th vote.

Resistance requires that we organize, organize, organize.

Gather with your like-minded neighbors, colleagues, and friends to turn out and oppose the Alt-Right / Alt-Reich march to glory. They warned us of their schemes from their first shouts of support for the twisted Trump campaign. We must resist their dark designs. Meet and protest and strategize and support our progressive movement. Help empower those who can be the most effective spokespeople and help get their words in newspapers, on the radio, and in front of TV cameras. Spread the word on social media and send your news to us so we can share it broadly. Follow PDA and share our articles on social media. Contact PDA Online Media Director Janis Kay to get involved. Give holiday gifts that support and advance your principles. That too is resistance.

We must all stand in solidarity to defend the possibility of democracy that this nation has (in theory) stood for over the past 240 years. Join us and support us now, as we rise up via whatever peaceful means necessary to defend and protect the US Constitution and our cherished commitment to justice for all people. PDA stands ready, with your support and backing, to join with our allies across the nation and across the planet to resist! Will you help us resist this unfolding oligarchy, sold to the desperate as populism, before its terrible malign ignorance and arrogance bullies common decency and common sense through manipulation and fierce control over our public discourse?

During Bernie's campaign, you gave generously to him and to those of us working to support his agenda and the progressive candidates who ran. That giving has dropped off significantly since July in Philadelphia, and we understand why. Now, we need your help as we work to reform the Democratic Party with our inside strategy, and as we continue working outside the Party to resist.
