Progressive Democrats of America is seriously concerned about the problematic tenure of Democratic National Committee Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. At a time when the Democrats will need a person of the highest integrity to unify, empower, and lead the Party into the general election, Ms. Wasserman-Schultz has proven she is either incapable or unwilling to provide solid, effective, or impartial leadership.

While the Republicans have enjoyed widespread exposure and $millions in free media through a robust debate schedule, Democrats have wasted opportunities to show voters what the Party stands for. This mismanagement has hurt all of the Democratic presidential candidates, and also damaged our prospects for retaining the White House and recapturing the Senate and House. As the DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz arbitrarily decided to allow only six Democratic debates, and ignored DNC leaders and members who requested that she schedule more. Exacerbating the opportunities she squandered, Ms. Wasserman-Schultz chose to schedule the few debates when she knew viewership would be at its lowest, such as the weekend before Christmas, competing against NFL playoffs, etc. Many believe she allowed her desire to tilt or bias the nomination process to benefit her friend Hillary Clinton superseded her obligation to run a fair process, as well as her commitment to help build the Democratic Party. Even if that isn't her motivation, she has failed dismally to perform her job. She was at helm when the Party suffered the worst wave of losses in anyone's memory in 2014. Despite the Democrats holding the White House during an exciting, competitive primary the DNC is running at a deficit. The Party lacks the necessary support and resources during this critical election cycle. All this indicates that Ms. Wasserman-Schultz is lousy at her job which is to get Democrats elected and build the Party. Click here to ask her to resign.

To win, we need every Democratic voter--supporters from all of the campaigns--to enthusiastically participate in the presidential race, the Senate contests, and every Congressional race. No matter who the ultimate Democratic nominee is, voters currently supporting the other candidates will feel discouraged and alienated if they sense the process was unfair.

Ms. Wasserman-Schultz has demonstrated an inability to support democracy and fairness in elections. Her actions have already dampened voter enthusiasm. She has ignored the general well-being of the Party and its long-term needs in favor of short term, short sighted, biased decisions to the detriment of the Democratic Party.
