Back in 2008, we were co-chairs of PDA's Healthcare NOT Warfare campaign. We traveled to Cleveland and Pittsburgh to push the Democratic Party platform committee to pursue Medicare for all / single-payer healthcare, as well as a commitment to stopping wars and less military spending. We testified to the committee, and we did win some language changes with the help of a delegate from the Chicago area.
Help Us Put Medicare for All
in the Democratic Platform
This election season, we are part of a large coalition of groups working to make certain that the Democratic platform reflects the deep support among all Americans, not just progressives, for healthcare justice through a Medicare for all, single-payer system.
Please take a few moments to sign the petition linked here, and share it widely in your networks. The time is short for us to gather as many signatures as possible.
Thank you for adding your support. There is no better way to honor one another than to come together around making sure every person in America has the right to healthcare without financial barriers and to recommit ourselves to a more peaceful world. Please sign and share the petition.
Peace,
Donna Smith and Norman Solomon
PDA Healthcare Not Warfare Founding Co-chairs
P.S. Please contribute $50, $25 or whatever you can now to keep us organizing and mobilizing!
