Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) has a long and consistent history of endorsing only candidates who share our values as evidenced by their positions on our issues. That's not just our history; it is our endorsement policy. PDA helped persuade Bernie Sanders to run for president. Unfortunately his campaign fell short. Still, we are not defeated. PDA endorsed the ColoradoCare ballot initiative and a slate of progressives for Congress. We're focused on helping them win in November. We hope you will join us working to elect progressives and help Coloradans expand high quality healthcare to all their residents.
Please volunteer with Mike "Phone Guy" Fox to make important Get Out The Vote (GOTV) calls from your own home. Feel like enjoying a Rocky Mountain Autumn? Then please contact Donna Smith to join us in Colorado working for ColoradoCare. Too busy to volunteer? Then please contribute generously to support PDA's efforts on behalf of ColoradoCare. We gratefully welcome any donation.
REMINDER: PDAmerica Issue Team Calls This Week:
As of November Progressive Democrats of America is changing our notifications for the issue team calls. Individual teams will no longer be sending an individual update, but instead will be sending out a joint email each week. It will include the information for you team's call, as well as any other issue team calls taking place that week. We hope you enjoy the new format and that it helps to open up many new opportunities for engagement.
Join us this Thursday for an important conference call to discuss the We Want Bernie campaign. We’ll invite special guest media expert Jeff Cohen to discuss how the mainstream media is covering the Sanders campaign and what we can do to overcome the bias.
We’ll also hear reports from We Want Bernie organizers across the country, and discuss ways you can get involved and make a real difference.
Report from PDA Grassroots Gathering in DC
|The Team at the Round Table|
We want to share the highlights of our amazing week in Washington, D.C. Our team gathered at the University of DC Law School Monday and Tuesday for planning and discussions. Tuesday night, we honored Tim Carpenter at the first annual Onward celebration.
We welcomed Congress members Jan Schakowsky, Hank Johnson, Keith Ellison, John Conyers and Jim McGovern. All of them spoke passionately about the progressive movement and our key role in advancing our shared values. We also recognized several progressive leaders with awards. If you missed the event and livestream, or if you want to watch it again, you can see the videos and view photos from the event (links below).
Remembering Tim Carpenter; "Onward" Awards and Celebration
Tim Carpenter made an impression everywhere he went, especially in Washington, DC. We would like to remember Tim and at the same time show how his memory has made it possible for us to move "Onward" and not only continue the work that he started but begin to expand it.
We would like to invite PDA members nationwide to join us via LiveStream on Tuesday, October 20th at 7pm to join us as we honor our Congressional heroes, grassroots and organizational activists who made Tim's "Onward" a reality.
PDA started as one organization and now there are two (Progressive Democrats of America and People Demanding Action). Where we formerly worked only at the Federal level, we have extended our outreach to both state and local activism. We have also expanded our technology to empower local activists to truly move the progressive agenda forward.
